この日は、人数は少なかったですが、トーランスの方から3人も来てくれました！！遠いところきてくれてありがとうございました★ そして初めて来てくれた、まいこちゃん、Today we didn’t have many people, but there were three people who came from Torrance!!  Thank you for coming all the way from Torrance★, and thank you for Maiko who visited us for the first time. 

神様を受け入れる祈りを一緒にしました！！  Maiko prayed together to accept Jesus in her heart!!

よしの、なおと、かなめの素晴らしい音楽の賜物をもっている3人がリードしてくれました！ led by Yoshino, Naoto and Kaname; the three that have a wonderful gift of music! 

そして！今日のスピーカーは市川祥さんでした。And today’s speaker was Sho Ichikawa.

神様が彼の人生を通して何をしてくださったのか、お話してくれました。He shared what God did through his life. 

人生には本当にいろいろなことがあるけれど、どんなときでも神様はともにいてくださるし、乗り越える力を与えてくださる方なんだな～としょうさんのお話を聞いて思いました！ As I listened to Sho’s story, it made me think how God is with us all the time and He gives us power to overcome different difficulties that life brings us our way. 

音楽が数学的な法則がある、というお話もとっても興味深くて、神様がつくった音楽の素晴らしさを知る事ができました！！It was interesting that he said  ”music has a mathmatical rule”.  Through his sharing, I got to appreciate music that God had created for us to enjoy.

ご飯は、ひろこさんがおいしいパスタを作ってくださいました！いつもおいしいご飯、本当にありがとうございます！Hiroko-san made yummy pasta dinner for us!  Thank you Hiroko-san for always making great food!

そして、ゲーム！りなちゃん、けんとくんがリードしてくれて、みんなでフルーツバスケットをしました！！ Then game time!  Rina and Kento led our game time, and we all played fruit basket game. 

真ん中に３回来てしまった人は、みんなの質問に答えたりして、とても楽しいゲームの時間でした☆ People who came in the middle three times had to answer questions from everyone.   It was a really fun time ☆ 

ゲームで盛り上がった後は、賛美。今回は、みやちゃんがリード！！！！！！！！！！なおとくんのギター、Deonさんのピアノ！！！！素晴らしいコラボレーションで、賛美をリードしてくれました。 After having fun playing games, we had a worship time.   Miya-chan led the worship.  Naoto-kun played the guitar and Deon-san played the piano.  Such a great team leading our worship time.   

そして、よしのちゃんの証し。通訳はアーサー。（急に頼んでしまったけど、快く引き受けてくれたアーサーに本当に感謝でした）Then it was Yoshino-chan’s testimony.   Arthur translated her testimony (Thank you Arthur for accepting to translate although we asked him on the spot). 

よしのちゃんのプロフィールをご紹介します。Let me introduce Yoshino-chan’s profile. 

うしじまよしのちゃん：1985年12月7日生まれ、日本の熊本県で生まれ育つ。自身がかいた曲を英語＆日本語で歌う。4歳の時からクラシックを習い始め、2004年から2006年まで平成音楽大学で音楽を学び、20歳の時に渡米。それからロサンゼルス地域を中心に、2009年にアルバム”Blow Out”を発売した日本人の女の子グループ、”Asian Blow”と活動する。
また、2010年の夏から、彼女のデビューシングル”With You”を発売するのに協力してくれたKyle DavisとJonathon DeCuirと音楽活動を続けている。
Yoshino Ushijima, better known as Yoshi’, was born on December 7, 1985. She was raised in Kumamoto, Japan.  Yoshi’ writes and performs her original songs both in English and Japanese. She began her music training at the age of four with playing classical music.  She has studied and perfected her craft at Heisei Music University from 2004 to 2006. Yoshi’ moved to the United States at the age of 20.  Since then she has been performing in Los Angeles area and performs with a Japanese girl group “Asian Blow,” who released an album “Blow Out” in 2009.  Yoshi’ has worked with Kyle Davis and Jonathon DeCuir since the summer of 2010, who helped her release her debut single “With You” in July 2011.

熊本にある実家が、白玉屋新三郎という長い歴史をもったお店で、家族は浄土真宗を信仰していて、小さい頃から霊的な環境の中でで育ってきたよしのちゃん。Yoshino’s family who lives in Kumamoto owns a  traditional Japanese sweets shop called “shiratamaya shinzaburo” .   Her family believes in Jodo Shinshu, and Yoshino grew up in a religious environment.      

アメリカに来た時は、いろんなことを抱えていて、傷ついてぼろぼろで、そんな中、彼女が今行っている教会につながりはじめ、神様の愛を知るようになっていったそうです。そして、救いを通して神様が、自分が抱えている傷を癒してくださるということを知ったそうです。 When she first came to the US she was burdened with many things, and she was feeling hurt and worn out.   It was at that time that she first went to the church she goes to now, and got to know about the love of God.   Through being saved by God, she found that God heals her. 

証しのあと、よしのちゃんの素晴らしい歌の賜物を披露してくれました。After her testimony, she shared her wonderful gift of singing with us. 

私たち人間は、1人1人とても弱い存在で、誰も1人では生きていけなくて、すぐに傷つけたり、傷つけられたり、道をふみはずしそうになったりすることもあるかもしれないけれど、神様は私たち1人1人を愛しておられ、あきらめてはおられない、素晴らしい愛の方ということを
また改めて感じ、確認することができました。 Each of are weak and we cannot live just on our own.  We need each other.  We can easily hurt others or can get hurt by others.  We might sometimes make mistakes.   But God loves each one of us, and He does not forsake us.  I was reminded again that God is love through her testimony.

夕食はpotluckだったんですが、その前にゲームをみんなでしました！伝言お絵かきゲーム！ Dinner was potluck but before that we played “dengon oekaki” game together. 

こどももおとなもみんなで楽しめました☆！そして賛美！ゆうこちゃん率いるバンドメンバー（ゆうこ、なおとくん、もう1人のなおとくん、かなめくん、よしや）でリードしてくれました！Children and adults all enjoyed this game ☆！And praise time!  Yuko and her band members (two Naotos, Kaname and Yoshiya) led the worship. 

賛美のちからはすごく大きくて、言葉を越えたものがそこにはあって、みんなで歌っていてとっても楽しかったです！！！！♪  The power of praise is amazing and there is something that surpasses what words could express.  We realy enjoyed singing together!!!!♪

そして夕食後には田辺先生のクリスマスメッセージもありました！And we had pastor Tanabe’s christmas message after dinner!

先生が、キリストは口先ではないとおっしゃっていたのが印象的でした。素晴らしいメッセージ、ありがとうございました！  How pastor Tanabe said that “Christ really put into action what he declared,” touched my heart.   Thank you for the wonderful message!

みんな待ちに待ったWhite Elephant！ Then we had white elephant game!

たくさんのギフトが集まりました☆  お米や食料品、いろんな豪華なものがあって、みんなでわいわい楽しくプレゼント交換しました！  We had many gifts☆  Rice, other food items, and other great stuff.  We enjoyed exchanging presents together! 

中には4回も人に取られてしまうような人もいましたが。。。みんなでたくさん笑いながら、とっても楽しいひと時でした★  クリスマスの意味もわかり、みんなでおいしいご飯も食べれて、プレゼント交換もして、とっても素敵な夜になりました☆！ Some people had their gifts taken away from them four times…  But we laughed a lot together and it was a really great time★  I understood the meaning of Christmas, enjoyed yummy food together, exchanged presents, and had a really wonderful night☆！

今日のご飯はジョイスが持ってきてくれました！！ギリギリまでご飯がどうなるか決まっていなかったので、本当に感謝です。Joyce brought food for us today! ! We are so thankful to her because we didn’t know what we were going to have for dinner until the last minute.

今日は、音楽の学校に行っているたいがに歌を披露してもらいました！ 自分で作った曲を2曲、ギター弾きながら歌ってくれました！素敵な歌声でした～！ Today, Taiga who attends music school shared some of his music with us.  He played the guitar and sang to two songs that he made!  He has a wonderful voice！

賛美は、ゆうこちゃんとよしくんにリードしてもらいました☺！  Praise was led by Yuko and Yoshi☺！

そして今日のスピーカーはDavid。And today’s speaker was David. 

デービッドは、オレゴン州のポートランドで育ち、ポモナ大学に通うため南カリフォルニアに引っ越しました。ポモナ大学卒業後、３年間ライスでボランティアをした後、シカゴ大学院に行くためシカゴに引っ越しました。そして最近、コンサルタントとして働くため、またロスに戻ってきました。David grew up in Portland, Oregon before moving to Southern California to attend Pomona College. He volunteered with Rice of Life for three years after graduation before moving to Chicago to attend graduate school at the University of Chicago. Recently, he returned to Los Angeles to work as a consultant.

SEEK　REUNIONなので、SEEKのように、raffleもありましたよー♪ちなみに私はポッキーをげっとしました＊！みんなそれぞれいろいろな商品をもらって、楽しみました：）MCは、SEEK同様、ゆうこちゃん、としくんがしてくれましたーーー！！We had raffle time since this is a SEEK reunion♪  I got ”pocky”＊!  Each person got different prizes and we enjoyed ourselves   MC was Yuko-chan and Toshi-kun, just like SEEK.

証しは、そのぶどうの木国際教会から、としくん。Toshi-kun, also from Budonoki International Church shared his testimony with us.    

としくんが神様と出会う前の自分、そしてどのようにして神様と出会い変えられていったか、4つのステージで、わかりやすく話してくれました！神様は、本当に1人1人に違うご計画をもってらっしゃってるなーと改めて思い、本当におもしろいと感じましたー！神様が、自分にどんな計画をもってらっしゃるか、知りたいとまた改めてすごく思いました。Toshi-kun shared how he was changed by God.  He shared the four stages he went through from before he met with God and how he was changed by God!  I thought it was really interesting how God really has different plan for each person!  I thought again how I would really like to know what kind of plan God has for me.        

大里先生にも、短いお話をシェアしていただきました！Osato-sensei also shared a short message with us. 

SEEK　REUNION、とっても楽しいイベントとなりました！奉仕してくださったみなさん、来てくれた皆さん、ありがとうございました☆！そして何よりも、祈りをきいてくださっている神様に本当に感謝です。SEEK reunion was such a fun event!  Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help, and thank you to everyone who came☆！Most of all, I’m so thankful to God who hears our prayers. 

運動会の部にも人が集まって、みんなで頑張りました！リレー、マイムマイム、そして綱引き。
みなさんほんとうによく頑張りました。次の日は筋肉痛がひどかったですね・・・ We worked hard on doing well at the sports section.   Relay, ”maimu maimu ,” tug-of-war…  Everyone did a great job.  Next day we had quite a bit of muscle pain…

夜ごはんもとってもおいしく、みんなで話しながら食べました♪韓国料理や、カレーも！！！！とってもおいしかったです！♪  We enjoyed talking to one another over a great meal for dinner♪  Korean food and curry!!!! It was so yummy!♪ 
 

そして、ステージの部では、我らがROLのメンバー、ゆうこちゃんがMCとして大活躍！抽選があったり、賛美みんなでしたり、ラップやよしのちゃんの歌のパフォーマンスがあったり。ぎっしり詰まったステージの部でした：）みんなで楽しめた1日でした！Our Yuko from RoL was doing a great job on the stage as MC!  We had raffles, worship time together, rap, and Yoshino’s perfomance.  Filled with so much great stuff   A really fun day with everyone!

新しい人がたくさんきてくれたので、アイスブレイクのためにゲームもしました♪  ゆうこちゃんがリードしてくれました！！！そして通訳のようこさん。ＲＯＬの間ずっと通訳をしてくださって、とっても感謝です。 Lots of new people came, so we played game as an ice breaker♪  Yuko-chan led the game!!!  Yoko-san traslated.  We’re really thankful to Yoko-san that she translates all the time at RoL.

そしてDeon Leeさんのミニコンサート♪  彼はごすぺるシロアム教会というパサデナにある日本人の教会で３年ほど前からピアノを弾いていて、賛美をリードしています。バイオリンも小さい頃からならっていて、今日はバイオリンで２曲、ピアノで１曲演奏してくださいました！Then Deon Lee-san’s mini concert♪  He is playing the piano at a church called Siloam Church in Pasadena, and he leads worship there too.  He learnt violin since he was little, and so he played two violin pieces and one piano piece!   

ものすごく素晴らしい才能を神様からもらっていて、その音楽の才能を私たちにシェアしてくれました。本当に素敵でした:)  みんなそんな素敵な演奏に聴き入っていました。  God has given him such an amazing talent.  He shared that gift with us gonight.  It was really great   Everyone was intently listening to his wonderful music. 

そして、スピーカーに小林佑太朗くんがわざわざOrange Countyの方から来てくれました！佑太朗くんのプロフィールを１部だけ紹介。 Kobayashi Yutaro-kun came all the way from Orange County as a guest speaker!  I’m going to introduce part of his profile below. 

1985年、大阪で生まれ、福島で育つ。家庭は自分も含めて無宗教だが、高校の入学試験の際、なぜか聖書の神様に「神頼み」し、福島県ではトップの進学校に間一髪で合格する。高校２年生の夏休みにニューヨーク州にて開催されたクリスチャンユースキャンプに参加し、キリストによる神様との和解を受け入れる。Born in 1985 in Osaka, and grew up in Fukushima.  His family including him was non-religious, but for some reason he prayed to God in the Bible to pass the entrance exam for highschool.  Then he managed to get into the top highschool in Fukushima.    He joined the Christian youth camp in New York when he was in the 2nd year in highschool.  That was the time he accepted reconciliation with God through Christ. 

この日は、この証しをもっと細かく、福島の事も含めてシェアしてくれました。今も、家族は放射能のある危険な場所にいて、今はニュースで被災地の事を放送される回数も少なくなってしまっていますが、まだまだ復興には時間がかかります。私たちもまた、日本の被災地の為に祈る時間をもっともっていきたいですね。He shared his testimony more in detail today.  He also share about Fukushima.  His family is still in a place where it is contaminated by radiation.  Nowadays, news doesn’t broadcast about those areas.  However it is going to still take a lot of time to recover from the disaster.  We should have more time to pray for the affected region. 

彼が証ししてくれたあとは、日本の被災地と、ハイチ地震の被災者たちのために祈りを捧げました。After he gave his testimony, we prayed for disaster relief in Japan and Haiti. 

今日のROLでは、Deonさんも２曲目でPray for Japanのビデオとともに演奏してくれて、佑太朗くんにも福島の事をシェアしてもらい、そしてまた、今日ハイチ出身の方が２人もROLにきてくれて神様によって必然的に集められたとしか思えませんでした。Deon-san played with the “Pray for Japan” video today at RoL and Yutaro-kun shared about Fukushima.  Also, there were two people who were from Haiti.  I felt that God brought all of them together. 

神様がわたしたちに語りたいことを、ROLを通して伝えてくれて、感謝でした。God had something He wanted to speak to us, and He communicated that to us through RoL.   We are thankful.

ゆうこちゃんの証し。 Yuko-chan’s testimony.

ゆうこちゃんはVictory Bible ChurchでChoirメンバーとして歌っていて、３年前その教会に通って行く中で自然と神様を受け入れました。Yuko-chan sings as a choir member at Victory Bible Church.  She naturally accepted God in her life while she attended that church three years ago. 

彼女には、音楽の賜物が神様から与えられていて、私も実際ゆうこちゃんの歌声をきいたことがあって、本当に素敵で、神様が与えたものなんだなーと感じました。そして、神様は音楽を通してゆうこちゃんを救ってくださって、彼女もそれを通し、それが神様からの賜物だと知ることができたそうです。God has given her a gift of music.  I have actually heard Yuko-chan singing, and it’s really wonderful.  I felt that God had given it to her.  Also, God used music to save her, and through that experience, Yuko-chan knew that her musical talent was a gift from God. 

救われる前、日本に居た時に付き合っていた彼に浮気をされてしまう経験をしたことがあるそうです。その時ショックで、７キロも体重が落ちてしまい、精神的にとてもおいつめられていました。
そんな時、テレビで「人を赦しなさい。」という言葉を聞いたそうです。この御言葉によって、前に進むことができ、またそれ以降教会にも行き始めたそうです。 Before being saved, she experienced her boyfriend going off with another girl.  She lost 7 kg because of the shock from that experience, and she was  on the verge of emotional breakdown.  At that time,  she heard on TV, “forgive people.”  That phrase from the Bible helped her move forward and  that led her to go to church too. 

神様が本当にすべてを計画なさっていて、無駄なことが一つもなくて、神様の恵みはつきないなーと聞いていて感じました。God truly plans everything.  I felt that there is nothing that is wasted, and that God’s grace never ends.

今日のROLはPeterのために！Farewell Partyをしました！Peterは去年の９月、弁護士の仕事を辞めて宣教師になるという神様からの啓示を受け、今年の９月からハワイのコナの学校へ行く事になりました。ROLへ関わってくれた期間はとても短かったけれど、Peterは私たちにとっていなくてはいけない存在になっていました！We did a farewell part for Peter at ROL today!  Peter got a calling from God to quit his job as a lawyer to become a missionary.  He will attend a school at Kona from September.  It was such a short time that he could come to RoL but he had become so dear to us! 

この日は、韓国料理をたくさん持ってきてもらいみんなでおいしいご飯を楽しみました＊  We had a lot of Korean food brought in, and enjoyed yummy food together.

ご飯の前は、みんなでゲームをしたりもしました！We also played a game before having dinner. 

この日のスピーカーはPeterのお父さん。とっても素敵な方で、Peterが仕事を辞めて宣教師になるのも喜んで、応援してくれているそうで、この日はPeterのいろんなお話をシェアしていただきました！＊ Today’s speaker was Peter’s father.  He is a really wonderful person, and he is also happy and supports Peter of quitting his job to become a missionary.    So we had him share about different stories about Peter!*

最後にみんなでサプライズ！And surprise for him at the end!

本当にPeterの存在は大きいので、ハワイに行ってしまうのはさみしく感じてしまいますが、神様にあって私たちは１つです。同じ神様を信じて私たちはその同じ神様のからだの１部としている限りは、離れていても１つです＊Peterは宣教師としていろんな場所へ行くと思いますが、どこへ行っても、ROLはみんなでお祈りして、一緒に参加してます！Peter’s presense means a lot to us so we are sad that he will be gone to Hawaii.  But we are one in God.  Since we believe in the same God and are part of the body of God, we will always be united even if we live far away*  Peter will probably go to different places as a missionary, but  RoL will pray together and will be joining you wherever you are!
